Female police officer stood down after 'moonlighting as prostitute'
FIRST ON 7: Seven News can reveal a female police officer has been stood down, accused of moonlighting as a prostitute.
A young female officer was suspended with pay earlier this year after a complaint was made.
Seven News understands the woman in her 20s had been working as a prostitute at a brothel in Findon.
Police Commissioner Grant Stevens confirmed the suspension.
“We have an officer suspended, but I can't talk about the circumstances,” Police Commissioner Stevens said.
But later in the day SA Police responded to further questions saying:
"This individual is before the courts" and is "no longer a sapol employee".
Seven News has obtained a screen shot of the officer's alleged online profile on the iKandy girls website, which describes itself as one of Adelaide's most popular men's entertainment establishments.
The profile's now been removed.
The officer appears to have described herself as 'stunning and athletic'.
Today, the brothel didn't answer Seven News’s calls or respond to requests for an interview.
While prostitution is illegal in South Australia, it is not yet clear if the woman has been charged.
