Sydney women killed in tragic Queensland crash believed to be radio prize winners

Two Sydney women who had reportedly travelled to Queensland to attend a concert as part of a radio competition, have been tragically killed in a car crash after the event.

The women died after a truck and car collided on the Pacific Motorway at Eight-Mile Plains, south of Brisbane.

It's believed they had travelled to Queensland as part of a competition to meet pop star Ed Sheeran 'face to face'.

Another woman was injured in the crash. She was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital and was in a stable condition.

The crash occurred on the Logan Rd off ramp about 10.20am.

The truck driver was not injured.

It’s believed the truck was travelling south when it crashed into a concrete barrier.

Tragically it wasn’t the only fatal crash on Queensland roads today.

A man in his 40s was also killed in a truck rollover at Eagle Farm.

The crash happened on Lints Ave North and Colin Ave East.

Paramedics said the man was conscious and was "pinned in his cab" when they arrived but died shortly after as a result of his injuries.
