HORRIFIC: US man murders wife then posts photo of her bloodied corpse on Facebook

A man in Florida has been found guilty of brutally murdering his wife and then posting a photo of her corpse on Facebook all while the couple's young daughter was in another room of the family home.

Derek Medina was convicted earlier in the week of second-degree murder after failing to convince a jury that he shot his wife eight times in self-defense.

In a taped interview with police Medina admitted he shot his wife during an altercation in which she threatened him with a knife.

In the same interview he admitted to taking a cellphone photo of his dead wife's body and uploading it on Facebook.

He told police he was “forced to kill her following years of physical abuse”.

Victim and mother, Jennifer Alfonso, a 27-year-old from South Miami, was brutally murdered inside her home in August, 2013.

In a text message to a friend that morning, Mrs Alfonso said: “I just want to spend time with him but I’m not going to beg,” she wrote shortly before her death according to the New York Post.

Immediately following the murder of his wife authorities said Medina drove to see his family and then turned himself into police.

He willingly gave police the home address to police where they drove to the scene of the crime finding the lifeless body, according to CNN.
