Corey Breen sentenced to 42 years prison for stabbing murder of father and stepmother

Paul Breen and his second wife Felicia Crawford were murdered by his son Corey Breen.

Double murderer Corey Breen has been sentenced to 42 years prison for the stabbing murder of his father and stepmother.

Breen was given a non parole period of 33 years.

The NSW man, 28, pleaded guilty to murdering his father Paul Breen and his stepmother Felicia Crawford at their Central Coast home on Good Friday 2013.

In an interview with police, Breen confessed he had also planned to kill his mother and siblings on the night of the murders.

In 2009 Breen wrote to his mother saying he plotted the murders and was scared someday ‘the monster’ he had kept locked away would surface.

He was encouraged to seek help.

On the night of the murders, Breen went on a rampage, using a hunting knife to stab a 63-year-old driver in the face during a failed carjacking.

He then stole another car before driving over to his father’s home.

He broke into his father’s home where he was asleep on the couch.

Paul was stabbed 15 times before Felicia, who was stabbed twice.

When police found Breen that night, he told them “I achieved my mission”.
