Uber driver pepper sprays drunk passenger who attacked him
An Uber driver in the US has filmed the shocking moment a drunk passenger viciously attacked him from behind, after being asked to get out of the vehicle.
Edward Caban was driving the unnamed passenger through Newport Beach in California on Friday night, when the horrific attack occurred.
“We start driving, he begins fading in and out of consciousness while (becoming) belligerent and aggressive, and refusing to put his seat belt on, swearing at me,” Mr Caban wrote when he uploaded the video to YouTube on Friday.
The drunk passenger also refused to give the driver exact directions to where he wanted to go.
Sensing trouble, Mr Caban grabbed his nearby pepper spray, flipped his dash cam around and pulled into a well-lit shopping center.
"I'm kicking you out man, that's it, trip's ended," Mr Caban says to the passenger as the vehicle comes to a stop.
The passenger tries to stay in the car and repeats his destination to the driver, until Mr Caban threatens to call police if he doesn’t leave the vehicle.
The passenger than opens the door and says; “Let me tell you something you little s***.”
He then launches into a violent attack on Mr Caban, hitting him repeatedly across his head and grabbing and pulling his hair.
It is then that Mr Caban brings out his pepper spray and maces his assailant straight in the face.
The man then flees from the vehicle, but is followed by the enraged driver.
"Yeah, that's what happens," Mr Caban says. "You got maced, motherf-----r."
The passenger was reportedly arrested a short time later.
Sadly this is far from the first shocking attack or terrifying road incident to be caught on dash cam.
