Horror 24 hours on QLD roads as two die in crash
A horror 24 hours on Queensland roads, with two separate accidents occurring resulting in the death of two and three others being taken to hospital with injuries.
The first crash occurred in Leichhardt where two people have been killed after their car smashed into a pole.
The 27-year-old man driving the vehicle and a 20-year-old female passenger both died at the scene of the accident in Ipswich.
It is believed a 29-year-old man travelling in the rear seat of the vehicle was taken to hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
The second crash involving two drivers have escaped serious injury in a two-truck crash west of Brisbane.
Westbound lanes of the Warrego Highway passing through North Ipswich remain closed as emergency services work to clean up the wreckage.

Initial reports suggested the truck travelling east veered across lanes and hit the truck heading west head-on about 5.20am.
Just after 7am, a police spokeswoman said a crash involving several cars, apparently caused by eastbound drivers looking at the damage, had cleared.
