Snakes invade Melbourne suburbs

Snakes are out in abundance in Melbourne and catchers overrun by callers asking for help.

The slithering reptiles started making their move as October started to warm up in Melbourne.

Snake catcher, Stewart Gatt, caught 18 deadly tiger snakes and three brown snakes over the weekend in Melbourne’s west.

“I had about if 15 callouts on the Saturday and probably another five on the Sunday as well."

The majority of the snake sightings were in Point Cook, Wyndham Vale, Caroline Springs and Melton.

Residents in suburbs among the Yarra are also being warned those areas are a snake magnet.

It's not the first time feisty snakes have been caught on camera.
