Man bitten by shark at Dawesville, Western Australia
A man has been bitten by a shark off the coast of Western Australia.
The 18-year-old was bitten on the foot at Dawesville, South of Perth.
The incident happened at Pyramids beach close to the local surf life saving club about 4.50pm on Wednesday.
The extent of the man’s injuries were not known at this stag but it's believed he suffered three puncture wounds to the foot.
Ambulance officers told Seven News the man was in a 'stable condition'.
He was being treated at Peel Health Campus.
The species of the shark was yet to be identified.
A spokeswoman from the Department of Fisheries said they were currently investigating the ‘shark incident’.
The spokeswoman said Pyramid Beach would be closed until tomorrow morning, when the situation will be re-assessed.
