'Let the blood flow': Letter found in 15-year-old terrorist's bag

The 15-year-old boy responsible for gunning down a New South Wales Police employee at Parramatta headquarters was carrying a letter in his backpack warning of the terror attack, according to a new report.

The letter was discovered in the bag outside the school on Friday containing the words "let the blood flow on the street" with other 'extremist' language, the Daily Telegraph reports.

It did not contain any details about specific targets, according to the report.

The boy, identified by police as Farhad Habar, ran through the street shouting "Allahu Akbar" before shooting 58-year-old father of two Curtis Cheng in the head as he left work.

The 15-year-old's schoolmates told News Corp he stopped playing soccer and basketball during the year leading up to the attack, his personality shifting dramatically.

Habar was killed by special constables on guard at police headquarters in Parramatta.

This morning more than 200 heavily armed officers from the NSW counterterrorism squad, homicide squad and AFP raided houses in Sydney's west.

Five people were arrested in relation to Curtis Cheng's shooting.

News Corp reports one of the men arrested is being investigated for possible Islamic State links and was also targeted in last year's terror raids.
