Brazen daylight theft of charity tin

An opportunist criminal has been caught on camera stealing a charity tin that had been raising money for Alzheimer's Australia.

There were three workers behind the counter of Brumby’s bakery in Doubleview on Saturday - all of them powerless to stop a brazen daylight robbery.

Using a loaf of bread to hide the charity tin, a woman in grey is seen to open her handbag and slide a collection worth $70 straight in.

While her friend acts as a decoy, the thief waits for her moment and makes a quick exit.

“It’s really disappointing that you would actually steal from a charity that’s there to support our elders,” said Rhonda Parker of Alzheimer’s Australia WA.

The owner of the bakery forwarded the footage to 7 News Perth in the hope someone may recognise the daring duo and contact police.
