Dating back to 1989 Jones was imprisoned for hitting two women.

He was part of a group called GAPA (Grandparents As Parents Again).

Police believe this group is linked to a paedophile ring in the area.

It has been more than a year after the then three-year-old vanished from the front yard of his grandmother's home at Kendall on the NSW mid-north coast.

Earlier this month a station wagon has been seized by authorities investigating the disappearance of three-year-old William Tyrrell.
