Drone captures amazing moment between whales and WA paddle boarder

A Western Australian man has captured the amazing moment a pair of whales came up to say hello to a paddle boarder.

Esperance local Jaimen Hudson heard the news that whales were frolicking off Fourth Beach so he grabbed his drone and raced down as quick as he could.

He managed to fly the drone out in perfect time as his friend Dave Price made his way over to the whales on his stand-up paddle board.

The video captured the magical moment the curious duo came up close to greet him.

“There was one time when the whales lifted their heads up looked up over Pricey's board, they were so inquisitive and wanted to know what he was,” Mr Hudson told ABC.

“I don't think it was dangerous, the whales moved to where he was and the whole time they were very slow moving and peaceful”.

Since sharing the video on Thursday, it has been seen around the world.

“The reaction to this clip has been huge and I really enjoy doing it, so hopefully I can take it further one day,” he said.
