5 Fashion Apps To Download Now

There are those fashion apps that are simply no-brainers- the ones where you couldn’t imagine not having on your smartphone such as the ever-so popular Instagram.

But here are five fashion apps that are likely to shake up the way you shop, buy and dress.

1. Stylebook
Have you always wanted to be Cher Horowitz from Clueless, in part because of her amazing computerised closet? Well fortunately technology has caught up to the times and it’s now possible, in essence, thanks to an app called Stylebook.

There are more than 90 features of the app, allowing you to upload images of your wardrobe, plan outfits and schedule them on a calendar planner. Not only that, you can also test out potential purchases with existing pieces and even keep track of how many times you’ve worn something to calculate price-per-wear.

2. Chic Sketch
In this age of near-constant selfies, what can one do to stand out from the crowd? Easy, have your photographs turned into real-life artwork.

With Chic Sketch, all you have to do to get a piece of original art is upload a photo and wait for one of the Chic Sketch fashion illustrators to draw you. You can even upgrade to priority status to jump the line.

3. FAD
Think of FAD as the ultimate fashion dictionary, a veritable treasure chest of fashion facts, lingo, pronunciations and terminology all in one spot.

It’s a must-have tool for anyone in the industry, or just for fashion nerds who love geeking out over the confusingly named fancy fabrics used by their favorite designers. It’s like a style cheat sheet or comprehensive Wikipedia entry encompassing all of fashion.

4. Stylect
Imelda Marcos, who famously owned thousands of shoes, would swoon for this app, which makes shopping for your next pair of stilettos, sandals or sneakers as simple as the split-second decisions you make on dating apps. Stylect is the Tinder of shoe shopping for its similar user interface that has you swiping right if you like a pair and left if you don’t.

Those with shoe addictions should proceed with caution because, like Tinder, it’s pretty addictive—and there are tens of thousands of options. Filter by price, color, style and swipe away. They’ll even let you know when your favourites go on sale.

5. ClosetSpace
ClosetSpace is geared towards inspiring and helping fashionistas plan and organise their wardrobes.

Every day users get the weather in their location, along with suggestions of what to wear from your closet for that forecast. It helps make packing lists for a trip, donation lists based on what you don’t wear much, and offers the additional service (for $25 per month) of a personal stylist, who suggests detailed outfits for your taste, along with when to wear and where to buy them.

For fashionistas who simply love order, this is a saviour.
