Six-year-old girl's body found in Brisbane home

Police are looking for the father of a six-year-old girl who was found dead at a Brisbane home this morning.

Officers were called to a house in Sturt Street at Kedron around 8:00am. A crime scene was established and detectives and forensic officers are currently at the home.

While the cause of the girl's death has yet to be established, police are treating her death as suspicious.

Police are looking for the child's father who reportedly drove away from the house in a silver Mercedes car.

The girl's mother and eight-year-old sister are with the detectives.

Police have been door-knocking the area.

Neighbour Katrina Marlow told ABC News that there were no signs of trouble at the home last night.

"When I came home at midnight it was lovely, quiet, peaceful, like it is every night," she said.

"At about eight o'clock this morning I heard my neighbour say something happened and I heard police sirens and noise and everything."
