NSW mother planning childcare centre for unvaccinated children

A NSW mother of two is planning to open a childcare centre for unvaccinated children.

Junita "Wanda" Halden, from the Northern Rivers region, is exploring the option of a "no jab school" in reaction to the state government's "No Jab, No Play" child health policy and the federal government's "No Jab, No Pay" welfare policy that will cut tax benefits from families that refuse to immunise their children.

"The No Vacc Child Care Centre is a project idea. R & D will commence in 2016. I have been approached by a small number of mothers and I continue to receive messages and online comments from parents in support of this stance,” the conscientious objector said.

Ms Halden believes that children who are not vaccinated will be denied a place at childcare, describing it as a "war crime against humanity".

“Think anti discrimination, war crimes, crimes against humanity, human rights violations, assault and battery charges and more,” she said.

No children are denied access to childcare in NSW, but the mother from Tabulum, west of Casino, also described welfare changes under the "No Jab No Pay" policy as "slavery".

Director of Public Health for the Northern NSW Local Health District Paul Corben told News Corp the Northern Rivers region had one of the lowest rates of vaccination in the country and pooling them together would create and "incubator".

"Even so, localities in Northern NSW with low vaccination coverage are experiencing higher rates of whooping cough than their neighbouring communities,” Mr Corben said.

“If you get a lot of unvaccinated children together, it’s like an incubator, a lot of vulnerable people together which supports the rapid transmission of vaccine-preventable diseases.

"It’s like throwing fuel on a fire, so it’s not a clever idea.”

Ms Halden referred to Wikipedia and junk sciences to prove her anti-vax stance as well as the unequivocally disproven link between childhood vaccination and autism.
