Tombstoner plays dead after 40ft jump off cliff
This is the shocking moment a tombstoner jumped off a 40ft cliff and then played dead as he hit the water.
The heart-stopping video was captured at Plymouth Hoe, in Devon and then uploaded it to Youtube and reported to the local newspaper.
The boy can be seen from a distance jumping off the cliff and then as he hits the water he lays face down lifelessly for a few seconds.
The identity of the teenager is not known but he is not believed to have been injured in the stunt.
The stunt has prompted a warning from the local police.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police told the Plymouth Herald: 'Members of the public need to be aware because tombstoning is extremely dangerous.
'Not only are you unsure of the water's depth, but you do not know if there are any rocks or objects below, meaning the jump can result in life-threatening or fatal injuries.
'It is important for any witnesses of tombstoning to report it to the police immediately, then we can move people away from the dangers by issuing a dispersal order.
'Whilst it may look fun, it endangers lives and can lead to permanent injuries so we could not discourage it more strongly.'
