Glenn Wheeler steps back into the spotlight

Morning Show presenter Glenn Wheeler has made his first steps back into the spotlight eight months after an accident that has changed his life.

Glenn was hit by a car riding his scooter home at Woolaware and he has spoken about the traumatic ordeal for the first time in an emotional interview.

The 54-year-old has been at Liverpool Hospital recovering from brain injuries.

The special video was screened at a media fundraiser at The Star casino on Wednesday night.

The Channel 7 band including presenters Chris Reason, Jessica Dietrich and Sophie Hull led the celebrations.

Morning Show presenter Larry Emdur told Yahoo7: "Seeing Glenn was both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

"He is showing good signs of progress. Obviously the road to recovery will be long and complex but every positive sign at this stage , no matter how small, is in fact monumental.

"It was overwhelming to see the love and adoration in the room last night for Glenn and his family.

"He is one of the most charitable people I know and last night’s gathering was karma at its very best.

"Everybody wanted to chip in and help the man who has spent so much of his life helping others."

The Morning Show's executive producer Sarah Stinson, along with hosts Larry and Kylie, visited Wheeler at his home on Tuesday to film the emotional video.

Glenn said in the video: "Thank you everybody collectively for the fabulous support that I have had, that this little black duck has had over the last two years."

Around $250,000 was raised at the fundraiser which will go towards Glenn's treatment.
