Bronwyn Bishop joins the masses in economy class

Bronwyn Bishop has experienced life on the backbench – flying economy.

Following reports Mrs Bishop had been acting like a “petulant princess” in parliament after joining the backbench, the former parliamentary speaker was photographed slumming it in economy class on Thursday night.

It certainly wasn’t the swish chopper ride she’s become known for.

The Herald Sun reported Mrs Bishop was snapped flying to Sydney from Canberra – a journey that takes about 45 minutes. The long-time Liberal stalwart was removed from the role of speaker after it was found she chartered a $5000 helicopter flight from Melbourne to a Geelong golf club in November 2014.

Initially Mrs Bishop refused to apologise for the flight as questions mounted about her spending.
