Man claims he was served rat at KFC, but internet smells one

Everyone is talking about Devorise Dixon’s claim that he was served a rat in his KFC meal. But not everyone’s buying it.

In a June 12 post on Facebook, Devorise said he ordered a meal of chicken tenders at a KFC in Wilmington, California.

Alongside pictures of a rat-shaped tender, he wrote: ‘As I bit into it I noticed that it was very hard and rubbery which made me look at it.

‘As I looked down at it I noticed that it was in a shape of a rat with a tail.

‘It sent deep chills throughout my whole body. I’ve been feeling weird ever since. It’s time for a lawyer, be safe don’t eat fast food’.

In a subsequent post, Devorise claimed the manager had admitted it was a rat, but KFC says that’s not true.

‘This happened in the US and, following an immediate investigation, no evidence was found to support this claim,’ a spokesman for the fast food chain said.

‘Food safety is our highest priority worldwide and we take allegations of this nature extremely seriously’.

In a post on social media, KFC said:

And imgur user smilingturtle points out that other pictures of the 'rat' show a bite taken from the head of the tender.

‘This is where the head would be,” writes smilingturtle, “Where the skull, brain, teeth and eyes would be.’

Devorise, meanwhile, won't respond to requests for comment. But he claims he's lawyering up and has the 'rat' in his freezer.
