Police officer caught karate kicking suspect drink driver in head

Jaw-dropping footage shows the moment a police officer karate kicked a suspected drink driver as fellow officers watched on.

The 41-year-old officer can be seen kicking the suspect across the head twice.

He kicks the suspect with his left foot and then again with his right while the victim is handcuffed to a chair.

The incident happened at a police station in Majorca, near Spain.

Another officer has been accused of moving the camera after realising the attack had been filmed on CCTV.

The officer faces four years jail if convicted on charges of torture and wounding.

He faced a Palma court on Tuesday. He said he ‘lost his nerves’ after the suspect threatened to hurt his daughter.

He said he knew he was being filmed and apologised.

"It wasn't the right behaviour. It wasn't the sort of behaviour a policeman should display,” he told the court.

The police officer accused of moving the camera said he ‘knocked it by accident’ as he got his extendable baton out.

The attack took place in September 2011.

The assault victim was under arrest for failing a breath test after a car crash.
