Why was this toddler left crying alone in a dumpster?
A toddler has been found abandoned and crying in a dumpster in Nebraska.
The boy, who was about one-year old was discovered by a neighbour in an apartment block who searched the bin after hearing noises.
The dark-haired boy was found crying but uninjured.
Ambulance officers took him to a nearby Children’s Hospital in Omaha.
Nebraska police are investigating why the small toddler was left in the dumpster.
LA Vista Police officers spent this morning working to identify the child, putting the call out on Twitter for public assistance.

They quickly got the answer they needed but they are still unsure why he was left in the trash and where his mum and dad are.

Police Captain Jeremy Kinsey told the Daily News that the boy was found sitting on top of the trash.
"Right now we don't have any good, solid leads on who this child's parents are or where they are," Capt. Kinsey said.
The boy was discovered about 6 p.m. Central Standard Time.
