Little Wings is a charity that flies children to hospital when they need lifesaving treatment.

In our Fair Go for the West story tonight we take a look at a unique service that with your help could spread its wings further and do much more.

Pat's family remembers him as a happy little boy with a huge smile.

Even after brain surgery as he flew hundreds of kilometres for radiation therapy.

Pat’s mother Emma Coombe’s told 7News: "If you've ever travelled on a plane with children, travelling with sick children is a hundred times harder."

Western Sydney charity, Little Wings, made the toughest time for the Coombes family, a little easier.

Flying them regularly between their home in Tamworth in rural NSW to Westmead Hospital in Sydney.

Ms Coombe’s said: "You can't put a price on being together as a family when your child is diagnosed with a terminal illness."

Tragically Pat lost his battle to cancer in January last year.

But his story, and personality, has inspired Nova's Fitzy and Wippa to start a new fundraiser selling loads of loud little bears to get Little Wings really off the ground.

Little Wings founder Kevin Robinson said: "We're so new, it's a new charity and we don't have the name and people don't know us at the moment.

"Go buy your parody bear because we really want to help little wings out.

"All the money raised from these bears will go towards running a second aircraft, so little wings can help twice as many children, and their families."

Ms Coombes added: "It makes us feel proud because he would've loved the bears wouldn't he sissy? Would have loved them."

The bears will be sold at pop-up shops around Sydney including at Blacktown Westpoint on Wednesday between 11am and 2pm.

You can also buy the bear online.
