Controller 'asleep' when MH370 vanished
Malaysian authorities have launched an investigation into allegations an air traffic controller was asleep on the job during the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370.
The doomed passenger jet vanished while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014, with 239 people on board.
Transcripts were released last Sunday of conversations between an air traffic controller and a Malaysia Airlines official.
In one exchange more than four hours after the Boeing 777 first dropped off radar, the controller can be heard saying he would need to wake up his supervisor.
Malaysia's Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said stern action would be taken over any misconduct.
