Aussie foodies will tonight sit down for a $525 degustation menu at world famous eatery the ‘Fat Duck’ as it opens its doors in Melbourne.

The 13 course menu includes iconic 'Fat Duck' dishes such as 'Red Cabbage Gazpacho' ice cream, 'Mad Hatter's Tea Party' soup, 'Nitro Poached Aperitifs,' 'Sound of the Sea' and a 'Savoury Lollies' salad.

The restaurant, which is the brainchild of Super chef Heston Blumenthal, has travelled 1700km's from the United Kingdom to make its debut in Australia.

It will be based at the Crown Resort for six months while its normal residence in England is renovated.

250, 000 people reportedly entered a ballot to eat at the three Michelin star restaurant, with just 14, 000 dinners lucky enough to secure a seat.
