Phelps hasn't spoken to girlfriend since she revealed she was a man
Taylor Lianne Chandler, the woman Michael Phelps was dating prior to entering rehab is dealing with severe public criticism since she publicly revealed that she was originally born as a boy.
Since the story broke last week, it is reported that Phelps has cut off all communication with the 41-year-old and whilst it appears Phelps is not returning her calls due to her deceiving him, Chandler maintains that she confided in the Olympian before going public.
"I told my story to Michael a day before I posted it on my private Facebook and then public," she told HollywoodLife.com.
"I went through hell for him. I protected him. I stayed quiet as the media ripped me apart for seven weeks. I have trusted him and fell for him. My past, my livelihood has all been exposed and taken from me, yet I am evil and destroying his life. I have friends that can’t be on my social media because they don’t want to be linked to this. I can’t go to the gym, the mall, or anywhere without people knowing who I am, first as Michael’s girlfriend portrayed by the media, and then by my whole past."
Phelps has recently completed a stint in rehab after his arrest for drink-driving last month and has not commented on the situation.
