Police probe suspected homicide

Forensics officers and detectives have returned to the scene of a suspected homicide in Dianella.

Police were called to the area about 5.20pm yesterday and cordoned off a block of units on Grand Promenade where Genevieve Elna Clark, 44, was found dead inside the house.

A neighbour whose unit backs on to the Dianella property where the body was found said he heard a commotion over the back fence just after 5pm yesterday.

"I was peering over the fence and I've seen (a man) yelling at the other dude," the neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said.

"You could tell it was pretty serious. There was a bit of yelling ... a bit of 'What have you done' from the (man) and the other guy was just sort of whimpering and crying and saying 'No it wasn't me'.

"They did say it was a her. It was a girl. He said 'What have you done to her'. I think he might have said at one stage 'You've killed her'."

The neighbour said police flooded the property within minutes of the overheard exchange.

Major Crime Squad detectives attended the scene last night and spoke to two men and a woman.

Forensics officers spent this morning at the unit, which is at the back of a group of four.

They are now focusing on a drain at the front of the unit.

Police are asking anyone who can help in the investigation or may have witnessed any activity in the area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
