Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange at noon on Thursday:

AGO - ATLAS IRON - up 1.5 cents, or 2.63 per cent, at 58.5 cents

Atlas Iron will work to cut costs by up to nine per cent, amid a slide in iron ore prices.

IAG - INSURANCE AUSTRALIA GROUP - up 13.5 cents, or 2.23 per cent, at $6.175

Insurance Australia Group is on track for a strong full year result after paying out less than expected in claims for natural disasters such as floods and bushfires.

MCG - MACQUARIE GROUP - down $1.25, or 2.04 per cent, at $60.02

Macquarie Group is sticking with its full year profit guidance, despite a disappointing first quarter.

NCM - NEWCREST MINING - down 45.5 cents, or 3.96 per cent, at $11.035

Newcrest has beaten its annual gold and copper production targets, but warns it is facing a hit of up to $2.5 billion after reviewing its mining assets.

QFX - QUICKFLIX - up 0.2 cent, or 15.38 per cent, at 1.5 cents
