Aussie passports cancelled over jihad fears

ASIO has reportedly cancelled the passports of 20 men in Western Sydney, in a crackdown on a suspected jihadist group.

According the Fairfax media reports, the intelligence agency accused the men of being prepared to engage in political violence if they travelled overseas.

The reports suggest the men are a threat to national security due to an apparent 'jihadist mentality'.

It follows the arrests of two men in Sydney last week, who are accused of recruiting Australians to fight in the civil war in Syria.
