Qantas apologises for pornographic facebook image

Qantas has issued an apology to the family of a young boy who saw a pornographic image on their Facebook page.

According to Fairfax Media, the Sydney boy was looking through his father’s Facebook on an iPad on Friday morning when he saw the image.

Qantas confirmed the image was on its Facebook page for about seven hours from midnight.

"Spam was posted to the Qantas Facebook page in the middle of the night, which included an inappropriate image the size of a profile picture," a spokesman said.

"We removed the post as soon as we saw it and offered an apology to a gentleman who contacted us to complain."

The father told Fairfax that the image was quite visible and said the “anatomical details were quite clearly recognisable."

He said he was told by Qantas PR that the image "wasn’t too bad" and that not many people would have seen it as it was posted in the middle of the night.

The man said he has been accused of trying to get free Lions tickets from the company.

Qantas said that the incident was unfortunate, and that “some people will go out of their way to spoil it for others by posting something inappropriate.”
