CCTV has revealed a couple missing from a cruise ship in Sydney fell overboard.
The 26-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were reported missing from the Carnival Spirit cruise ship by staff early this morning.
The Westpac Life Saver chopper and police are scouring stretches from Sydney Harbour to Newcastle.
"Our marine investigators attended the ship and along with the personnel made a thorough check, they also looked at CCTV," Detective Superintendent Mark Hutchings said.
"That footage, whilst it’s not 100 per cent clear, we are determined that two people have gone off the side of the ship."
It's believed the pair fell overboard at 8.50pm last night, somewhere off the coast of Forster.
"We believe they were up mid-deck, which is half way up the side of the ship which is quite away to fall," Superintendent Hutchings said
"At the moment I've said to my staff it's game on and we are going to be pulling out all stops to try to find these people at the moment."
The ship docked at Sydney's Overseas Passenger at about 11.30am today.
It had reportedly passed through the Pacific Islands.
The ship is due to disembark from Sydney shortly. Passengers on that cruise have been faced with confusion, with some being told there were Customs issues.
