Missing diabetic man found

Update 2.50pm: A 35-year-old diabetic man who had been missing since Saturday in the Scott National Park area near Augusta has been found.

Luke John Kocsis went camping with friends from Margaret River in bush south of Milyeannup Coast Road on Saturday.

At 8.30pm Mr Kocsis decided to walk back to Margaret River more than 50km away. He took nothing with him and was wearing dark jeans, a dark jacket and thongs.

He was reported missing to police at 3pm on Sunday.

Police and Margaret River State Emergency Service volunteers searched for Mr Kocsis until 10pm yesterday.

Police officers joined two teams of SES volunteers on the ground this morning, while a helicopter also scoured the area.

Police and State Emergency Service volunteers searched an area around the camp site, before widening the search to include a section between the corner of Milyeannup Coast Road and Woodarburrup Road.

Mr Kocsis was been located by police officers on Woodarburrup Road.

He appears to be in good health, but will be checked over by a Saint John’s Ambulance crew.
