Three diggers injured in Afghanistan

Three Australian Special Forces soldiers have been wounded during a Special Operations Task Group operation in Afghanistan.

One soldier suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, a second suffered a gunshot wound to the hand.

They were both treated at the incident site by medically trained personnel and were later evacuated to a medical facility at Tarin Kot.

Both are now in a satisfactory condition and are being sent back to Australia for special treatment.

The third soldier was wounded as a consequence of the conduct of the operation. He has made a full recovery.

All three soldiers have notified their families.
