Hunt for teen over machete attack

FIRST ON 7: A dispute between neighbours has seen a young man attacked with a machete at Lalor Park in Sydney's west.

Police are searching for a 16-year-old boy after he allegedly forced his way into his nextdoor neighbour's house and attacked him with a machete.

Paramedics were called to the house in Holmes Street shortly after 3pm.

They found a man suffering deep wounds to his head and his hands after being attacked with a large machete.

He was rushed to Westmead Hospital where he is now in a stable condition.

Other boys in the area said they were concerned for the victim and the attacker.

"He's been a bit down lately, a bit troubled, yeah, hasn’t been himself," a friend said.

Disturbingly officers say the boy with the machete barely knew the victim.

Officers say because the assailant is so young, they are hoping to find him quickly to make sure he's okay too.
