Couple found dead in Sydney mansion

A man and woman have been found dead in a Sydney northern beaches mansion, with reports suggesting they may have been there for several weeks.

According to News Limited the man and wife were found in a badly decomposed state on December 7.

Police are awaiting toxicology tests to determine the cause of deaths.

According to reports, the man and woman were in their fifties, and were considered ‘reclusive’ despite having lived in the Bayview house for over 20 years.

A neighbour said he learned more about the pair from police knocking on their door than he did when the pair was alive.

"I didn't even know a woman lived there until the police told me. I saw him from time to time, mainly working on his sandstone fence," he said.

One line of inquiry was that the deaths were both suicides. Another theory is that one died of natural causes, with the other killing themselves out of devastation.
