Six arrested over home invasions

Six members of a violent gang have been arrested after a series of home invasions in Adelaide’s north.

Police say a group of up to five men allegedly broke into two houses on Womma Rd at Penfield at about 3am while the occupants were asleep.

At one of the homes, an occupant struck one of the alleged home invaders across the head with a golf club.

Police say the occupant was subsequently assaulted, resulting in a broken nose.

The alleged intruders the fled in a stolen car, which police lost sight of near Parafield.

Victims at both homes said the intruders told them they had a gun and if anyone moved, they would be shot.

One of the alleged offenders was later arrested after presenting to the Lyell McEwen Hospital with a head injury, while the other five were taken into custody during raids in the northern suburbs.

Police have asked anyone who may have information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at
