Mum wins temporary custody

The mother of the four girls at the centre of an international custody dispute has been granted temporary custody in a Brisbane court today.

The Family Court ruled the four children can go back to living with their mother on Queensland's Sunshine Coast until the August hearing.

It is believed next month's hearing will go a long way to determining whether the sisters will live abroad with their father in Italy, or remain in Australia with their mother.

The girls have been trying to avoid a Family Court order to return to Italy to live with their dad.
