Mrs Redman, 87, was found murdered at her Yacca Rd home at Seacliff, in Adelaide's southern suburbs, on January 26 this year.

Major Crime Detectives arrested a 17-year-old male from Morphett Vale, and a 17-year-old male from Christies Beach this morning.

Detective Acting Superintendent, Denise Gray, said police initially had processed around 50 persons of interest in the murder case.

But a month ago, a member of the community came forward with information on the two arrested youths.

"Suffice to say there were a lot of detective hours put in, some extremely long hours and we also had some vital information from the community," she said.

"We leave no stone unturned to solve these types of crimes; we do everything in our power to protect."

She said the two arrested youths had been under police watch for about a month, since receiving the information.

"I’m disturbed by it. To commit an offence at such a young age and we have had quite a few recently."

"One thing to remember is not only are there victims of crime, but also the families of the offenders are victims in their own way."

"No one would assume the child would do something like this, and they would be traumatized as well."

Det Act Supt Gray urged more members of the community to come forward with information on other cases across the state.

"It is important if you know something, you come forward," she said.

"Quite often South Australian police get criticized for lengthy investigations, but it’s not easy when you start from nowhere."

The two teens will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court later today.
