The Australian dollar has been weighed down by strength in the US dollar following a solid performance on Wall Street.
At 0630 ACT on Monday, the currency was trading at 72.07 US cents, down from 72.55 cents on Friday.
US stocks rose sharply in their last session following strong earnings from tech companies like Microsoft, Google parent Alphabet and Amazon.
