8 Bulls Escape Massachusetts Mall Rodeo, Causing Chaos — and One Is Still on the Loose

Numerous bulls escaped from a rodeo at a Massachusetts mall on the afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 22 — and one animal is still on the loose.

According to ABC News, eight bulls escaped their pen at the rodeo, held at the Emerald Square Mall in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, on the border of Rhode Island.

A shocking video from the incident shows rodeo attendees looking on as the loose animals race through the parking lot and crash into a fence. One of the bulls was caught shortly after breaking free.

Edy Vasquez recorded the chaotic incident and told Storyful about the escape. "People started to panic, and that's when the bulls started running around," he said.

"In the video, you can see that the bulls almost hit a lady, but luckily, she made it out."

The North Attleboro Fire Department, along with members of the New England Rodeo and the mall's rodeo, assisted in searching for the escaped animals.

Six of the bulls found their way into a yard three miles away from the mall, local news site NBC News Boston reported.

"As soon as I stepped out when I looked over there, I was like, 'Those aren't horses, those are literally bulls' and 'Oh my God,' " Chris Mooney, whose yard temporarily hosted the bulls, told the outlet. "I got all my dogs from outside, brought them inside real quick."

The search team safely corraled the bulls from the yard into a trailer.

No injuries were reported from the incident, and the rodeo, which shut down for the day, is currently under investigation, according to NBC News.

As of Monday at 12:30 p.m., the remaining bull is still on the loose "in the Allen Avenue area of North Attleboro." "Rodeo personnel are continuing their search with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing," the fire department wrote on Facebook.

Community members are encouraged to call 9-1-1 if they have an update on the missing bull.
