Police say a five-year-old was hit by a vehicle while crossing a road in Regina on Wednesday.

Officers arrived at Davin Crescent in the Argyle Park neighbourhood at around 3:45 p.m. CST and took the child to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a police news release.

The driver remained on the scene and police will continue investigating, the release said.

"It has not yet been determined what charges, if any, will result pending the outcome of this investigation."
