A 14-year-old boy died and three others were seriously injured in New York’s Clinton County early Sunday morning after the teen crashed the car he was driving unlicensed.

The boy, from Rouses Point, was speeding down Depot Street just after 1:45 a.m. local time when he lost control of the 2011 Honda Ridgeline while going around a turn, according to a news release from New York State Police.

The pickup truck collided with multiple trees before coming to a stop, and the teen driver was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other young people — a 14-year-old boy from Mooers, a 12-year-old girl from Mooers and a 13-year-old girl from Champlain — were seriously injured in the crash, NYSP said.
