Search continues for one winner of record $110m Powerball jackpot

While two ticket holders have walked away with an eye-watering $36.7 million from Thursday’s groundbreaking $110 million Powerball draw, one mystery winner has yet to be identified.

A young Sydney couple have come forward to claim the the gargantuan amount on Friday morning after a South Australian man learnt of his winnings on Thursday night.

A Victorian resident, however, is none the wiser about their windfall.

“Imagine going to bed a multi-millionaire and not knowing it?,” The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said.

The Victoria winner purchased an unregistered ticket in the suburb of Macedon Ranges with officials frantically trying to track them down.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1209 drawn on Thursday were 6, 13, 1, 11, 23, 27 and 16, while the all-important Powerball was 11.

Joy for young Sydney family

The Sydney winners, a young family, are feeling overwhelmed after going a night without realising they’d become millionaires.

Sharing their joy on Friday, the winning woman confessed they were going to take a moment to let the life-changing news sink in.

“It all feels very surreal at the moment!” she said.

“I think we’ll just have to take it one step at a time and see how we go!

“We’ve got two kids so this will go a long way to setting them up for the future.”

When asked how they planned to enjoy their multi-million dollar windfall, the happy Sydneysider confessed she wouldn’t be giving up her day job.

“I love my job in medical research so won’t be giving that up but I do hope to use the money in a meaningful way.”

Man missed phone call over division one winnings

And for one South Australian man, he went to bed ecstatic with the news of his gargantuan windfall – albeit nearly missing The Lott’s calls to reveal the news.

“I was definitely not expecting this phone call!” he said, revealing he eventually answered the phone on the second call.

“My heart is going a million miles an hour. That’s unbelievable! Wow! Thank you!”

The man also scored division two 19 times, bolstering his total prize to $37.6m.

The young winner said a holiday was long overdue, and could even take his family on a round-the-world first class trip.

The winner was adamant that helping out others was also a priority.

“I’ll also pay off my family’s mortgages and donate heaps to charity,” he said.

And the big question, which is a no brainer for many: Will he quit his job?

“I might... I don’t know.”

The jackpot was the biggest prize ever offered by an Australian lottery game, with one in three adults estimated to have purchased a ticket for the draw.
