At least 11 people have died in an alleged arson attack on a textile factory in Moscow.
Yulia Ivanova of the Investigative Committee of Russia told Interfax news agency that a criminal case is being launched into the "deliberate destruction or damage to property entailing human death."
She said the fire, which started early on Sunday, had damaged around 3000 square metres of the building.
Police sources said two separate fire outbreak points were found, leading to suspicions that it was an act of arson.
According to official figures, more than 10,000 people die every year in Russia because of fires.
