Grylls probe over water slide

He has taken on – and conquered – some of the most grueling, heart-stopping, death-defying adventures in the world.

But, has Bear Grylls finally met his match in the form of his local council?

The adventurer is facing a local council probe after erecting a water slide on the cliff edge on his island home without asking for permission.

Grylls, who installed the slide into the sea on his St Tudwal West island holiday home, posted the image on Twitter with the caption ‘New slide attached at home on our island! You hit the water very fast!!!’.

This brought the slide to the attention of the local councilor Wyn Williams, who told the Daily Mirror: “As far as I’m aware, he uses it about two-to-four hours a day and it’s used by the family itself.

“When the tide is in, that’s not too bad. When the tide is out, there’s quite a lot of rocks.

“I’m not sure if he needs planning permission but I think he should have notified the council.”

A Gwynedd council spokesman added: “Officers from the council’s planning service are investigating this case and will be discussing the matter with the site owner.”
