Authorities in America are investigating how an Oregon farmer ended up being eaten by his own pigs.
Terry Vance Garner, 70, set out to feed his animals on his Coquille farm last Wednesday but never came back, reports Associated Press.
When he did not return home, a family member went out to look for him and, although his dentures and pieces of his body were found in the pig enclosure, most of his remains had been consumed.
The Coos County district attorney's office have indicated one of the animals had previously been aggressive with Mr Garner in the past.
They are also considering the possibility Mr Garner had a heart attack which put him in the position where the animals, with each pig weighing around 320kg, could then eat him.
Authorities have not ruled out foul play either.
"For all we know, it was a horrific accident, but it's so doggone weird that we have to look at all possibilities," District Attorney Paul Frasier told The Register-Guard.His brother Michael added: "Those animals were his life. He had all kinds of birds, and turkeys that ran all over the place. Everybody knew him."
