A 28-year-old American woman is facing multiple charges after police said she repeatedly had sex with a 13-year-old boy who she met at the Bible camp where she was a teacher.

According to the Sulphur Daily News, Heather Daughdrill initiated the relationship in June and continued it until a complaint was filed in October.

"The investigation revealed Daughdrill would engage in inappropriate sexual contact with the boy after picking him up from school without the parents’ knowledge," a press release from the Calcasieu Police Department stated.

Authorities also said they discovered "explicit text messages" between Daughdrill and the boy.

Daughdrill now faces 17 criminal charges including sexual battery, carnal knowledge of a juvenile, kidnapping, indecent behavior with a juvenile and contributing to delinquency.
