It's not every day you get to be there for the moment a person is told they've won the lottery.
But that's exactly what happened when a Canadian news anchor's name was drawn from a barrel live on air.
The team from Global BC in Canada went live to the drawing of the BC Children's Hospital Dream Lottery draw – in which the grand prize was a house valued at almost $2.5 million, or $2 million cash.
The winner, Barry Deley, just happens to be the Global BC sports anchor.
The anchors couldn't resist calling their lucky colleague on air to tell him he had just won two million dollars.
The good news doesn't end there tough.
The charity draw raised over $2,000,000 for the local children’s hospital – the same hospital where Mr Deley's daughter Eden had been treated for leukemia seven years earlier.
