Ever wonder what it would be like to orbit the Earth at a really high rate of speed? Well, wonder no more.

A new time-lapse video shows the view from the International Space Station as it begins to make its way around Earth at night over the Pacific Ocean. The camera on the Space Station continues taking pictures through the night as it passes over parts of British Colombia, including Vancouver and Victoria, before making its way down the western part of the US and then South America.

The video also shows some spectacular lightning over the Pacific. The thin yellow line that wraps around Earth is the ionsosphere.

It was put together by James Drake using 600 publicly available photos from the Space Station.
