A bomb-rigged soundproof cell, medical and gynaecological torture instruments, barbed wire windows – the details are straight of out of a horror movie, but one woman has lived the nightmare.

According to The Sun newspaper, German media has told of the alleged horrifying tale of an unnamed woman said to be kidnapped on Friday in Hamburg, Germany by a man named Thomas Fischer.

The 30-year-old captor is said to have snatched the woman off the streets, trapping her in a soundproof telephone box cell, surrounded by bombs, that reports say were set to go off once Fischer was done torturing her.

Police said it appeared Fischer intended to keep the 26-year-old woman for as long as possible in the two-room apartment in Wachtelstrasse, Hamburg.

The woman is said to have escaped two hours after her capture. Handcuffed, she reportedly jumped through barbed wire windows to freedom, leading police back to the apartment.

"(It) was rigged up as one massive torture chamber, with this big old-fashioned telephone kiosk soundproofed as the cell for his victim," a police spokesman said.

Senior public prosecutor Wilhelm Möllers told The Sun newspaper "It is evident that the apartment was meant as a place of confinement for some time."

A range of medical and gynaecological tools, and a mannequin, were found. Police have alleged Fischer practised using the implements on the doll.

Police said the bombs were stuffed inside fire extinguishers and were so volatile that they had to evacuate 300 people when Fischer's apartment was raided.

Police believe Fischer knew the woman, an Israeli. They were said to be introduced by a friend, but they were "definitely not" in a relationship.
