Body-in-boot killer's wedding plans knocked back

Body-in-boot murder accomplice Tania Herman, who left housewife Maria Korp for dead, has had her bid to marry her lesbian lover knocked back.

Tania Herman, who is serving at least nine years jail for attempted murder, had planned to wed her prison partner, convicted fraudster Nicole Muscat, behind bars.

Corrections Victoria today rejected Herman's bid to hold a commitment ceremony inside Tarrengower women's prison.

Seven News understands the short length of the pair's relationship coupled with the length remaining on each woman's sentence contributed to the refusal.

Herman is serving a minimum nine-year jail-term for the 2005 attempted murder of Maria Korp in a plan hatched with Joe Korp, her secret lover and the victim's husband.

Ms Korp was strangled and beaten by Herman, then bundled into the boot of her car and dumped at the Shrine of Remembrance.

The 50-year-old mother-of-two was discovered close to death four days after she went missing from her Melbourne home.

Ms Korp never recovered from her injuries and died six months later, and on the day of her funeral Korp, who was awaiting trial, committed suicide.

Herman, who is due for parole next year, pleaded guilty to Ms Corp's murder but maintained that she was coerced into the killing by Korp.
